Bliss Carman, the well-known Canadian poet dropped dead at Mew Canaan, Connecticut, today while on a. visit to a friend. i He was born in New Brunswick In ISOI, and was educated at the 1 New Brunswick University, and Edinburgh and Harvard. He became a. journalist in Xew York, and published many volumes of poems, including “Ballads of Lost Havens,” “A Winter Holiday,” “Bongs from Yagabomlia,” a Coronation Ode, 1902, “April Airs.” His work was recognised last year by ' the Canadian Royal Society, which j awarded him the Lome Pierce gold medal. At the celebration of the j ,pibilee of the confederation of Canada at Ottawa in 1027 his poem, “Dominion Day, 1027,“ was road by Mits Margaret Anglin, the famous Canadian actress, whoso father had been Speaker of the Canadian fiouse of Commons, j
