Cherrio. j DONATIONS. I I A donor, who wished to remain anonymous forwarded £5 to the board. Receipt was also acknowledged of the gift of Air Thomas, Kamo, of 421bs of pumpkin, which won the first prize at the AVinter Show. j PLUNKET SOCIETY’S REQUEST. The committee of the Whangarei branch of the Plnnket Society asked the board to favourably consider paying the remain,der of the board’s subsidy in a lump sum, to enable the immediate purchase of a new ear for the nurse.
Airs Donaldson gave notice of motion that the previous resolutions that the subsidy be paid quarterly, be rescinded for this year, DENTAL SERAMCE. Air A. J. Murdoch, M.P., forwarded assurance that, as requested by the board, he would consult the Minister of Health regarding a better .dental service for country children. A.O.F. ATEMBEES. The secretary of the AVhangar'v A.O.F. forwarded a list of .members entitled to hospital behefits. KING GEORGE Y. HOSPITAL. The Acting-Director of Health advised that after considering representations made by ■ different hospital boards, the Minister of Health had decided that there should be no increase in the .previous rate of fees for children at the King George A r . Hospital, Rotorua. The increased rate of 12/- for adults was put into operation on June I.
ENTERTAINMENT OF DAIRYAIEN,
The executive of the National Dairy Association Entertainment Committee thanked the board for its offer to dispense afternoon tea to the visiting delegates at the Kamo Springs on the afternoon of Priday ? June 28, .at a cost of 9d per head, subject to a remission of £lO as a donation from the board. CAPES FOR NURSES. The weather being much too cold for members of the staff to go to and from duty without extra uniform covering, the matron suggested the purchase of 43 serge capes costing from 25s to 30s each.
The House Committee recommended that the matter be deferred until the next estimates are under consideration.
Air J. N. AtcCairroll moved that the recommendation be referred back to the matron. He thought that .the capes could be inter changeable and a lesser number would be adequate. The motion was carried.
