ATLANTIC PLIGHT VENTURE. EMERGENCY LANDING. (United Service.) (Received 8.28 a.m.) ■COPENHAGEN, June 10,
Captain Ahrenberg, Sweden’s leading aviator, who set out from Stockholm yesterday in an attempt to fly the Atlantic via Bergen, Iceland, Greenland and Newfoundland, wirelessed that ho had made ,an emergency landing and that the prospects of further flight were uncertain. RACE TO RESCUE, MACHINE ESCAPES DAMAGE. (Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 10.39 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, May 10. A message from Reykjavik (capital of Iceland) states that the steamer Erga, which raced to the rescue of Captain Ahrenberg, reports that the plane is not damaged. Supplies of fuel are arriving.
