LEAGUE MANAGEMENT

MEETING- OF COMMITTEE. WHAKAiPAEtA JOINS UP. At a meeting of the Rugby League Management Committee at Hikurangi, last evening, Mr C. E. 0 ’Callaghan presided over an attendance comprising the following;—Messrs P. Kells and A. McMillan (Hikurangi); R.. Scott and A. Sankey (Ware); R. Wellham and G. Dobson (Kamo) ; A. Cadman and B. Taylor (Athletic); D. Jones and C. Hauraki (Whakapara); A. J. Ohissell (Referees) and E/’.W. Taylor secretary.

The chairman extended a welcome to the Whakapara delegates, who suit* ably replied. Mr 0 'Callaghan explained the full details of the deputation to the Wha.ngarei Borough Council and also the meeting with the chairman of the council's Parks Committee. The action of the deputation was endorsed. Letters were read from representatives of teams in Hokianga asking for support in starting the League code in that district.—'The secretary was instructed to reply that the Northland League would render every assistance possible. , Mr Dobson was instructed to get assistance and to erect suitable goal posts at Kamo, and to put the groupdin order. The chairman was appointed to take charge of the gate at Kensington Park on Saturday. A number of accounts, including two for insurance, were passed for payment. It was decided that the' Whakapara club play in green jerseys^ A resolution that all teams must adhere to the boundary system was carried. Messrs G. Olsen and H. Codlin were transferred from Waro to Hikurangi.. The request of A, Connelly for reinstatement to League was granted. It was decided to nominate Mr Thompson on the N.Z. Referees’ Association, to represent Northland. On the occasion of the visit of the Auckland representatives to Hikurangi, which is expected to eventuate on June 1, it was decided that the cur-tain-raiser be played between Whakapara and Hikurangi.
