RUGBY LEAGUE MEDAL.' The Rugby League has a beautiful solid, gold modal, donated by Mr A. Cadman, of Hikurangi, for the most popular player, to be judged by spectators’- votes, for the- season* fThe* medal, which is on exhibition at*Mr-C,-.; Chissell’s shop, weighs 2Aoz. and is two inches in diameter. An exquisitely engraved front depicts a playing field complete with goal and pavilion and two players speeding for the posts. A background ,6f trees with a church' spire,in the distance completes an artistic piece of work. The whole is surmounted by a football in bas-relief. On the reverse side is the inscription ‘ ‘ Presented by A. Giidman for the most popular player,” with room left for the player’s name and the date. The winner of such a handsome trophy will have something he can treasure throughout his whole life.
