CONFIDENCE IN EXECUTIVE. The election of officers resulted:— President, Mr H. W. James; vicepresident, Mr Blade Clark; auditor, Mr E. P. Ramsey (all the foregoing were re-elected). Ou a ballot being taken, Messrs J. Parkin, M. F. M. Wliitelaw, dill Smith and David Wyllie were elected to fill vacancies on the council. GENERAL BUSINESS. Captain Patterson reported that conditions in the Kaimaniaku River were ideal for trout, and the fish liberated two years ago were doing well. He suggested that if fresh fry were obtained, half should lie put in the Kaimanuiku, two thirds of the remainder in the Waiotu, where good fishing was already available, and the balance in the Maungavei stream, Mr E. L. Whimp suggested that the balance sheet be issued a week before the meeting. In answer to an inquiry by Mr J. North, the president pointed out that sanctuaries could only be created by the Minister. Mr D. Kerr asked for more birds to be liberated in the Maungatapere district, as a large number of licenses Were issued in the vicinity.
