CAUGHT REDHANDED

Complaints of thieving at the Handera Tannery, North Melbourne, caused police to hide on the premises, when they saw two young men vjnip the fence and commence to steal skins. The police pursued them and fired shots. One fell mortally wounded,- the other continued and was eventually captured, but not before severely injuring a knee. The dead man was Clarence Tylie. aged 21. The man who was arrested is Alfred Froyd, aged 22.
