The match for the Phmket Shield between Wellington and Auckland "was concluded! at Eden Park yesterday, the visitors emerging from the fray victorious by the narrow margin of 34 runs. The home side batted stubbornly, but MeGirr’s bowling played havoc with the late batsmen five of whom he polished off at fie expense of 71 runs, Henderson /was responsible for annexing the scalps of four strong batsmen at an expense of 97 runs. Weir displayed flue batsmanship and was undefeated with 72 to his credit. Details of the scores are as follows:
