CHILD'S DEATH EXPLAINED

At the inquest into the death of Doris Laverack, aged eight, who was electrocuted while onj the (operating table at the Hull infirmary, a verdict of accidental ’death was returned.
A radiologist isaid that the nurse unwittingly hpproached the danger zone beyond the fluorescent stream, placing herself in aft ideal position in relation to the overhead leads from the high-tension system, thus completing the circuit and giving a shock which was sufficient to electrocute the child.
