After clearing Feilding Captain Buckley handed over the controls to his bride, who flew the -machine all the way to Blenheim, thus achieving the distinction of being the first woman to pilot a plane across Cook Strait. The young couple wore warmly welcomed to Blenheim and took off for -Christchurch amid showers of confetti.
