ALLEGED THEFT
CHARGES AGAINST YOUNG MEN.

Tlie theft of 3141 b of scrap brass and 14olbs of copper wire was admited in court today by William John Tonkin, a greaser, aged 30, who was employed by the city council. It was stated that Tonkin was employed at the electric power station, and had sold a considerable quantity of; copper wire and brass to marine dealers. Wire was recovered .to the value of £2 Os Gd. Metal valued at £2 ISs fld had not been recovered. Counsel said the wire and brass had been discarded and was lying around the yard. The magistrate admitted Tonkin to proba- % tion.
'Charles Frederick Walsh, aged 19, and Thomas Walsh, aged 20, were charged with breaking and entering by day the house of. Charles Worth and stealing £2l ISs. Thomas Walsh was further charged with the theft of tw.o watches, a gold chain, a shirt and two pairs of shoes, a total value of £44, the property of Bartholomew’ J. Kcllohor. Both pleaded guilty , and were committed to the Supreme Court Tor sentence.
