Australian ..Newspaper Conference a resolution 1 was passed that in view of hhe reductions in cable charges which followed the inauguration of the Pacific Cable and (2) upon the functioning of ■ beam wireless, it is now urged that before Australia becomes a partner in the Wireless Merger, provision should be*made under which the people of ithe Commonwealth will be assured of further reductions, which should become possible with the development of the beam system.
