BUCKLAND'S REPORT.
(Special to “Northern Advocate.") AUCKLAND, Tins Day.
Buckland's report that today at Westfield they penned 332 head, comprising 192 steers and d4O cows and heifers, compared with 498 last Wednesday. The quality was first class, but although there was a-'steady demand throughout values suffered a further drop, heavy cattle being most affected. Extra choice ox sold to 42/ per lOOlbs; choice and prime, 37/ to 41/; ordinary and plain, 35/ to 36/; prime young cow and heifer beef, 38/ to 36/; ordinary cow, 30/ to 32/6. Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price from £l6 to £l6 17s 6d; heavy, £l4 10s to £ls 17s 6d; lighter, £l3 to £l4 7s 6d; light, £l2 to £lB 10s; unfinished and small. £8 to £ll 10s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers, £lO 10s to £l2 ss; heavy, £9 to £lO 7s Gd; lighter, £7 to £8 17s 6d; other cows, £5 8s to £6 17s 6d. W. Vesper's (Cambridge) steers fetched £l6 175.6 d.
