DECISIONS OF ASSEMBLY,
(Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND This Day.
The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand continued its sessions at 'St. David's Church yesterday. The morning was largely devoted to consideration of the report of the Board of Education. The report reviewed the year’s activities 4 J of the church's colleges and further consideration of the proposals to rearrange the organisation of the church, was given by the Assembly. At the afternoon session, the debate was resumed on a proposal that a general secretary be appointed, that his otlice be combined with that of the Home Mission superintendent,, and that he be located in Wellington. After the Bov W. J. Connie, who was in charge of the report, had replied to the criticisms, a vote was taken and the . proposal to appoint a general secretary was rejected. Mr Connie said this was the most vital proposal in the report. The Assembly agreed to send cordial messages of sympathy in their illness 1 to the Bovs. G. W. Lochore, of Whangarei, M. Miller, Holensville, and J. C., Paterson, Lincoln.
The Missionary Demonstration, organised in connection with the ses sions of the General Assembly, was at-
tended by upwards of 2000 people in the Town Hall last evening.
