The Lyons correspondent of the "Daily Mail" reports that a typhoid fever epidemic involving 3000 persons threatens to overwhelm the medical and sanitary authorities. Isolation hospitals arc packed. Already .there have been seven deaths. A judicial inquiry has opened. It is believed that the epidemic is due to contain* inatiou of the city's drinking water.
