A CHILD’S ESCAPE
FELL INTO BATHS. Yesterday afternoon, at the Hikurangi School swimming baths the 24-year-old daughter of Mr E.. Smith, of Jordan Road, narrowly escaped ingThe child fell into the children’s pool unnoticed. Miss Nancy Cunnold discovered the mishap, lifted the little victim out and promptly obtained medical assistance. The child was unconscious when removed from the water, having in all probability struck its head when falling. But for the prompt discovery a fatality would certainly have occurred.
