Owing to heavy rain, no play was possible yesterday in the Sheffield Shield match between Victoria and Queensland, the former having scored 300 in first innings, thte latter responding wdth 384 for nine wickets. —A. and N.Z.

The Waikato Cricket in order to provide a. strong opposition to the Australian cricketers when they visit Hamilton on March 7 and 8, has decided to invite T. C. Lowry, H. M. McOirr, F. T. Badcock (Wellington) and E. H. Bowley, J. Langridge and A, L. Player (Auckland) to combine with five Waikato representatives as a North Island side, owing to the weakness of a local team. —Press Assn.
