GOLFERS’ APPRECIATION.
WELLINGTON, This Day.
The secretary of the New Zealand Golf Association has received the following letter from Dr P. Sydney Jones, captain of the New South Wales golf team: — I
"Before leaving your fair land, New Zealand, .may I he permitted to express, on hehall; of the New South, Wales golf team, their deep appreciation of the generous hospitality of the New Zealand Association, and not only the Association, but the playing members of your New Zealand clubs, and the officials of those clubs, "Wherever we have gone, nothing: but the greatest kindness and generos-j ity has been showered on us. Personally, I think the New South Wales team has behaved in the correct spirit of the great game of golf, and I hope they have left in New Zealand the impression that they are true sports, j "How can I thank your Association! for your kind- thought in giving me a special miniature of the Cup? I shall indeed cherish dt as a reminder of a most wondsrfjl time at hands of most wonderful sports, in a most wonderful land.
"I have not expressed half of what I feel, but I am sure that you know my heart is full. Please give me the chance of repaying the debt to you all at the next Kirk-Wdndeyer Cup contest in Victoria." —Press Assn.
