Resident only .10 months *sn the Dominion, Mrs Mary Ann Buckley left a legacy estimated at between £ISOO and £I7OO to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Now Zealand. There is no such Society, and the Supreme Court has to decide . whether Wellington was intended to benefit, or whether the various Societies of New Zealand should share. All but three are represented by counsel. The Otago, Auckland and Hawke’s Bay Societies are not represented, but have agreed to abide by whatever decision is arrived at.
