FEILDING, This Day. Championships as follow were awarded at the Peilding show: —
Jersey bull, W. T. Williams ’ Sybil’s Gammage Dreadnought; reserve, W. Devine’s Nap; cow', W. T. Williams’ Viola’s Queen Bess; reserve, R. L. Horn’s Kuku Brooklet.
Milking Shorthorns. —Heifer, R. V. Brow r n’s Waimea Domingo; reserve, R. V. Brown’s Waimea Lilac. Grade dairy cows. —T. D. Hicks. Romney ram and reserve. —-G. E. Allan; ewe, E. E. Short. Southdown ram.—L. E. Vile; ewe, H. Burrell and son. Berkshire boar. —A. Yardley; sow, W. J. Russell. Tamworth Boar. —Cheltenham Cooperative Dairy Co,; sow, J. A. Russell. Champion hack. —J. Shaw’s Workman. For people’s day, there- w T as a very large attendance at a most successful show. Hon. A, D. McLeod (Minister of Lands), in speaking at the official luncheon, urged the farmers to. organise for business purposes, referring particularly to the export of pork. He said that when Cabinet decided to grant the subsidy, it found that the representatives of the various sections could ,uot agree as to how it should be applied. It was hoped that the Government’s decision would give an impetus to the pork export trade.—Press Assn.
