MUSICIANS’ AWARD
SLIGHT ALTERATIONS, WELLINGTON, This Day. The Dominion Musicians’ Award, was arranged before Mr P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner. The wages clauses was settled on the basis of the present award; a week’s holiday, on full pay, is allowed at the end of 12 months and some alterations were made with'regard to Women operating mechanical instruments. Directors get 25/ above ordinary rates. The eourt reserves power to amend the award at any time with regard to musicians in cabarets. The new agreement operates at the end of Summer Time. —Press Assn,
The maize crops t in .the Whakatane district are doing exceptionally well this year, the favourable weather experienced during the planting season enabling the crops to get "‘‘Welti advanced before. the ’dry weather set in (states an exchange)?'
