WAR MEMORIAL
CONTRACT LET. DAEGAVILLE, This Day. Five tenders were received for the erection of a soldiers’ war memorial band rotunda on the river bank at Dargavfjle, the lowest,"that of Mr W. Lee, at £257 17s, being accepted. This amount with the exception of about £7O, is in hand. The memorial has been under review for some time, and its erection will be welcomed by the people of Dargaville. In addition to this memorial, there is an area of about 15 acres set aside as the Northern Wairoa Memorial Park, for which £IOOO is in hand for improvement work. —Press Assn,
