CAUGHT AGAIN
SHOPLIFTER AT WORK WOMAN FINED £lO. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”), AUCKLAND, This Day. Hilda Bryant, aged 32, married, was lined £lO today for stealing two dresses valued at £33 5s from a Karangahape Road shop. ■- Counsel said her husband was wellknown and there was no need for his wife to steal. The yjolice gave evidence that the manager, -while watching several women yesterday, saw Airs Bryant take the dress and conceal it under her overcoat. Accused was detained till a constable arrived, when she threw the dress on the desk. The manager then saw that it was not the same colour as the one he had seen her take and asked for the other dress, possession of which the woman denied, but she subsecpiently produced it. Ahe had been admitted to probation previously for a similar offence and the magistrate, Air F. K. Hunt, refused , suppression of her name.
