LEVEL CROSING CRASH H

LUCKY ESCAPE OP TWO MEN. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day, When a car, in which they were travelling, was struck by the North express at Bligs Road level crossing at eight o ’clock this morning, H. Black, an electrical engineer, of North Road, Papanui, and one of his employees, N. E. Browne, had a miraculous escape from death.

The ear, a Chevrolet, was badly damaged. The force of the collision can be gauged from the fact that the spokes from the front wheels were carried along the railway line for a distance of 15 yards. Neither man was hurt. —Press Assn.
