COPENHAGEN, August 12

A Finnish railway man, Haemacl Lacinen, aged 29, claims a world’s record long-distance swum. He started from Yalamo, on Lake Ladoga, on the 10th and reached Sortavala on the 11th. He covered 42 kilometres. He was accompanied the whole w T ay by a coastal artillery motor boat with a doctor aboard. His time was 26 hours 15 minutes. —Buu.
