VENOMOUS SPEECH
DELIVERED IN REICHSTAG,
INFURIATES THE FRENCH,
(Received 1.30 p.m.) . PARIS, August 12. Herr Kardoff’s speech in the Reichstag has caused excitement here. The “ Journal des Debats” says: “It is more venomous, more full of hate than any from Germany for a long time, besides being full o'f misstatements. From such a, speech we must conclude that Germany aims at the absorption of Austria, repudiation of the Dawes plan and recovery of Alsace Lorraine.”
“Le Temps” declares: “The speech shows that there is a lot to be done before disarmament is a reality. The speech originates in a spirit against which 1 reason powerless.”—A.N.Z,
