A sensational accident occurred at the Drury Tannery shortly after 8 o’clock this morning, when a drawing machine, which had only been installed two days, burst into fragments. Two workmen were struck by the flying metal. One, Alexander Donald, a married man, with three children, residing at Pukckohe, received injuries to the stomach and one thigh. The other man, named Bolton, married, with two children, a resident of Papakura, had his left arm broken and received serious injuries to head and. body.

A late message states that Rolton died when on his way to Auckland Hospital.
