THEATRE BURNED

A TOTAL LOSS,

WAIROA (H. 8.), This Day.

Everybody’s Theatre, a large wooden building on the North Clyde side of the town, was burned to the ground early this morning. The theatre was used for pictures and a dance hall by E. Munro. A card tournament was held last night, but everything appeared safe when the caretaker locked up shortly after midnight. The fire had a good hold and the building was doomed when the brigade arrived. Nothing was saved. Fortunately there was no wind, otherwise a large block of buildings would have gone. The building was owned by the Maloney estate and the insurances are unavailable. —Press Assn.

THE INSURANCES,

WAIROA (H. 8.), This Day,

The insurances were: Building, £950; cinema plant, engines, dynamo, films, etc., £35 in one office, £9OO in another and £9OO in a third office.—-Press Assn.
