The New Zealand Cricket Council entertained at luncheon the Melbourne cricket team and the New’ Zealand { team to tour England, t Responding to the toast of the Mel- j bourne Cricket Club, Warwick Arm-1 strong spoke of the strides New Zea-1 land cricket had made. Some might speak, disparagingly of the Dominion’s cricket, but Ithe j material jw;as here and he could honestly say he washed they had some of the promising New Zealand players in Australia for j their future teams. Ho considered j the team to be sent Home had been j wisely selected, especially on the score! of the youth of players. He hoped the tour would discover some champions When they returned. They would do much for New Zealand cricket. The health of the New Zealand team Was also toasted.
