SYMPATHY EXPRESSED
GOOD RESULTS EXPECTED,
POLICY OF -CONTROL BOARD.
ALLEGED BREACH OF FAITH.
PALMERSTON N., This Day.
The Wellington executive of the Dairy Farmers’ Union today passed a resolution, “that this executive expresses its sympathy Avith the Control Board an its present position and its confidence that it will eventually be successful in obtaining geod results.”
The executive also decided to write to the Eight Hon. J. G. Coates, urging the Government to assist the Board in : properly marketing produce. The opinion was expressed that the present situation was organised by the Lbudon merchants in England in an erideavmur to abolish the- Control Board altogether, and that a word of encouragement to the board was not out of place. Regret was also expressed that certain members of the Control Board had turned tail on -the producers. It Avas stated also that the rank and file of the farming community Avere ardent supporters of the board, -and that farmers’ individual opinions should not be overlooked. Several members considered a great deal of trouble today could be traced to the appointment of a Government representative on the -board, Avhich, it Avas alleged, was a distinct breach of faith with the producers, and that the Government appointee was a man Avho Avas entirely opposed to the interests of the produc-ers.—-Press Assn.
