A London cable message records the death of Sir Henry Craik, Conservative M.P. for Glasgow and Aberdeen Universities since 1906, in his eighty-first year. Mr W. F. C. Balham, who has been French master at the local High School for the past 12 months, left Whangarei today for Wellington, where he will take up a similar position at the University in that city. Outward passengers to Auckland today included Messrs H. A. Swaffield, of Papatoetoe, Percy Swaffield, stock auctioneer for Messrs A. Buckland and Sons, and Alex J. McGregor, a former resident of Whangarei, and now living in Epsom, Auckland.
