THE POULTRY INDUSTRY
A NEW DEPARTURE. 'FORMER MARDMAKU RESIDENT. ENTER PRISE UTAH; The following excerpts from a Salt ; Lake City journal relate in part the I industrial activities of Mr L. C. j Going, son of Mr P. S. C. Going, of 1 Maromaku:— ' J A now departure in the poultry inj dustry in the state of Utah is noted jin the organisation of what is known |as the Utah Pullet Farm. Mr Delbert S. Holmes and Mr L. C. Going, of Brigham City, two of the prominent producers hi that sec-lion, have formed a partnership. and are planning to brood forty thousand baby chicks in order to develop pullets for sale to those who do not care to brood their chicks. These two -men experimented last year on a .small scale, and were so satisfied with the results that they are planning to do tilings on a really big scale this year. • The Association feels .that this is a most commendable move, and we feel certain that Their efforts will meet with .success, and that there will be certain producers throughout the state wlio will welcome their activity, j It is the intention of Messrs Holmes { and Going to sell the pullets at about j eight weeks of age. j The association could 'have sold at j least fifty thousand pullets during the past summer, if they had been available, so that we feel sure of the fact that the enterprise of these two young men will meet with a most gratifying success. There are certain sections in the state where it is rather (liffieult to brood chicks, because of weather conditions, and, no doubt, this news will be welcomed by those producers, and i they should keep in mind the name of i this farm, ‘‘Utah Pullet Farm,'’’ Brigjliam City, Utah.
