The Wellington- Racing Club’s autumn meeting opened today in dull weather. The track is in good order and the attendance fair. Results: —
First Highweight Handicap, of 300 sovs; one mile. —(6) Sayonara, 9.0 (G. Salt), 1; (9) Gardant, 9.0, 2; (12) Hokioi, 9.0, 3. Colarina, Fiery Comet, Handy and Lady Passenger were scratched. Won by three-quarters of a length, Hokioi half a length further away. Time—l.4o.

Royal Time, Young Lochinvar and Lady Desmond were scratched. Won by a length, Magna Charta ton lengths further away. Time —2.574.
Plunket Nursery, of 300 sovs; five furlongs. —(4) Paganclli, 8.8 (F. E. Jones), 1; (1) Covent Garden, 7.11, (bracketed with Thaw), 2; (3) Melissa, 8.0, 3.. Talisker, Eadion and Rory Mor were scratched. Won by a length. Time —58£. This time is only a quarter of a second outside Machine Gun’s record.
Thompson Handicap, of 1000 sovs; one mile. —Rcremoana, 9.8, 1; Joy King, 7.8, 2. Piuthair, Royal Damon and Merry Jest were scratched.
OPUNAKE MEETING. EUCHRE WINS HURDLES. HAWERA, This Day. The Opunake Racing Club’s annual meeting opened in dull and showery weather at Pihama today. The track is in good order and there is a fair attendance. Results: — Hack Hurdles, of 200 sovs; one mile and a half.—-(4) Euchre, 10.4, 1; (2) Anchor, 9.6, 2; (3) Sea View, 9,3, 3. Take Take and Festive were scratched, Won by four lengths. Time —2.55 4-5. Maiden Plate, of 100 sovs; six and a half furlongs. —(3) Anolo, 9.0, 1; (5) Takini, 8.3, 2; (2) Mousogne, 8.3, 3. Lady Acre and Port Alice were scratched. Won by half a length, third horse‘a head further away. Time —1.26.
