WATEELOO RECONSTRUCTION. CHARING CROSS DOUBLE-DECKER (Received .1 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. In the House of Commons, Air Baldwin announced that the Government was prepared to grant from the Roads Fund three-quarters of the cost of reconstructing the existing Waterloo Bridge, as recommended by the Royal Commission on Cross-river Traffic. The Government was inviting the County Council and the Southern Railway to examine the proposal for a double-decker railway bridge at Charing Cross. It was prepared to contribute to the scheme. —A. and N.Z.
