GROWERS AND MERCHANTS MEET. WEIGHTY PROBLEMS. WELLINGTON, Jan. 21. The first conference since 1022 of the flax industry opened at the Farmers’ Institute today. Growers and merchants were represented. The subjects that will probably assume importance are the modern methods of manufacture, grading of fibre, and in view of the growing nature of the industry, recognition of its importance in several directions to be aimed at. —Press Assn.
