CHILD’S DECEASE

| DUE TO POISON-, ! - ! CRIME INFERENCE. I (Received 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. A three-year-old boy, Robert Murray Boyd, died in the Prince Alfred Hospital from the effects of poison. When the boy reached home he told his mother, who lives at Richmond, that an unknown man had stopped him and asked him if he wanted a drink. The man then handed the boy a lemonade bottle. The boy became ill and was removed to hospital. Post mortem examination revealed that the boy’s mouth and throat were burned, possibly by spirits of salts.—A.N.Z.
