DEADLY BOWLING. SEVEN WICKETS FALL FOR 60. (Received 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. South Australia, in their first strike, made 148. William!.' 21, Pritchard 56 and Grimmett 19. Bowling: Morton took 5 for 70 and Blackie 4 for 59. Light showers in the morning made the wicket a bit tricky. The visitors made a poor showing against the deadly bowling of Morton and Blackie, Te first seven wickets yielding only CO runs. Pritchard and Grimmett stemmed the debacle foV a time, the partnership putting on 53. Once it was broken, the bowlers made short work of he remaining batsmen. —A. and N.Z.

Victoria in their second innings had lost 3 for 1(58—Woodfull 34, Ponsford 84, Hendry (not out) 36, when stumps were drawn. Ponsford and Woodfull opened brightly, cutting and driving freely. After losing Woodfull, Ponsford looked like adding another three figure score to his list, but had the misfortune to get leg before. He gave two chances. Yesterday he passed the coveted mark of 5000 runs made in first class cricket. Hendry played bright cricket. The bowlers looked easy.—A. and N.Z.
