EARTHQUAKES AND ECLIPSES
WELLINGTON’S EXPERIENCES. WELLINGTON, This Day. A slight earthquake at 10.45 last evening was immediately followed by a more severe jolt, but not of sufficient severity to cause damage. Clouds greeted a partial eclipse of the sun this morning, but breaks now and again permitted a view of how it was progressing. At times they were of advantage, enabling observation by the naked eye.—Press Assn.
