SENT>TO ALFONSO ABDICATION DEMANDED. COUNTRY’S BEST INTERESTS,, (Received 9 a.m.) LONDON, September 28. The Paris , correspondent of the “Daily Express” learns from Madrid that Count Romanones, ex-Premier, sent to King Alfonso a manifesto demanding his abdication if he signs the decree for General Primo Do Rivera convoking Parliament. The manifesto accuses King Alfonso of having violated the constitution, and declares it would be in the best interests of the country if he renounced the throne.
The censor has forbidden publication, , of the manifesto throughout Spain, but copies' are being circulated from hand to hand.—A. and N.Z.
