THE PETONE TRAGEDY

HUSBAND BREAKING DOWN. WELLINGTON, This Day. When the case, in which Mrs Perrin was charged with the murder of her four children at Petone, on September 11, came before the-Court again, today, Mr Leicster appealed on behalf, of the husband against a remand from week to week. The woman was do- . tained in a mental hospital and might probably never come out. Remands, did not affect, her, but the husband an, elderly man, was gradually breaking down under the strain. Mr E. Page S.M., said it was a case where the , police might consider withdrawing the proceedings in the meantime, and he would grant an adjournment for another week in order that the chiefdetective might consult his superior officers. —Press Assn.
