A meeting of the committee a£ the A. and P. Association was held 'on the 25th ,inst., under the presidency of Mr Callaghan,
Messrs Rolls -waited on the committee and more discussion took place in connection with the proposed pictures, but no finality was reached. Three new members were proposed.
Tenders were considered for championship shields, and it was decided to obtain six shields for presentation in the Pedigree- Milking -Shorthorn, Jersey and Friesian classes respectively. The sub-committee appointed to report on the Piaka property, with a view of granting the tenant a renewal of lease, recommended that a renewal be granted. This was confirmed by the committee.
A portion, of the schedule, for the next show was revised, more classes being allocated to the pedigree classes, particularly Milking Shorthorn and Friesian, the grade classes being reduced.
The monthly stock sale was held on Saturday. There was a good yarding of stock and satisfactory prices were Obtain ed.
The. roads in the district are drying fast, and cars are again running through on the main road, although it is very rough in some parts. Through traffic between Whangarei and Kawakawa is mostly deviating at Hukerenui via Tapuhi, this road being in very good condition.
