MASTER CRIMINAL
I BROUGHT TO BOOK i ASTOUNDING EXPLOITS. CULTURE MISAPPLIED. (Received 9.5 a.m.) ' PARIS, February .20. An amazing criminal, with attributes reminiscent of Landru and Charles (Peace, has just fallen into, the hands lof the police. He is Georges Delormal, who was arrested on a charge of robbing his employer. Startling facts were revealed when inquiries were made, into his past. It is believed that he was associated with many murders, but was enabled toescape owing to extraordinarily clover disguises and abilities as a forger. Under assumed names, Delormal used false moustaches, spectacles and'* wigs. He played many parts, Variously as valet, locksmith, electrician. draughtsman and law student. At other times he was a violinist, playing in restaurants. His flat contained two violins, and a whole library including the works of Anatole France and Zola, also a complete burglar's kit. He-was a cultivated man and had at his command four languages. He was expert at manufacturing identification papers, his knowledge of which was gained in an official capacity at Marseilles, Included in his possessions were types, signa-. tures and seals of all the civil and military administrations, spurious certificates and identity cards. He had a i complete sot of papers relating to j every name he assumed. Official documents were perfectly imitated. I It is believed that, like Landru, he jhad many affairs with women. A notebook revealed scores of names which it is believed will prove most useful in tracing his association with more than one unsolved murder.—A. and N.Z.
