A TRADE UNIONIST PROTEST. , (Received -9.19 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A meeting of trade unionists at the Trades Hall advocated direct action against the Crimea Bill, and described Mr Charlton (Labour Party leader in the Federal Parliament) as a traitor because he had not taken a firm enough stand against the measure. A resolution was passed that the secretary of the meeting be instructed to write to all labour councils and unions asking them to organise mass demonstrations to resist the application of the . bill. —A. and N.Z.
