NATIVES ACCEPT GOVERNMENT'S OFFER. HASTINGS, This Day. A transaction involving the acquisition of a block at Pukititiri of 590 acres, of ■which 400 acres are covered with valuable milling timber, was concluded between the native owners and the Government at a meeting of owners yesterday afternoon. After lengthy negotiations, which have been hanging fire for a long time, the owners accepted the Government's offer of £35 an acre, amounting to £17,815.
