ALLEGED MURDER
A POLICEMAN’S DEATH, ITALIAN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (Received 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Domonico Condello was committed for trial on a charge of murdering Constable Clare. —A. and N.Z. Following an argument between three constables and a number of men, mostly Italians, at North Melbourne, a fight ensued in which one of the constables, named Clare, was fatally stabbed in the groin. Ah Italian, Dominie Condello, was arrested after a chase and later charged with murder. (A. bloodstained,pocket knife was found near the scene of the fight. Condello is alleged to have made a statement t 9 the police that denies ownership of the knife. • "■ ■*'
