INSECURE CURRENCY
SAFEGUARDS REQUIRED.
CONCERNING BORROWING, V
(Received: 12.20 p.m.) , LONDON, November 24,
In a letter thanking Mr Churchill for removal of the embargo on foreign loans, the Federation of British Industries draws attention to a serious feature of the world's trade, namely, the instability of currency in several of the most important trading countries, which gives them an unfair advantage in competing with British manufactures; therefore the Federation suggests that no country with unstable currency should be permitted to borrow in the British market except for the express purpose of stabilising currency. —A. and, N.Z.
