A Dublin message states that at the Irish tennis championships, in the .first round of . the ladies' singles, Miss Bbyd beat Mrs. Pratt, ,6-~0,- 6—l.' Miss St. George beat Mrs. 6—o, 6—2. MisseS Harper-and Akhursthad' walk-overs.;
In the mixed doubles, first round, Smith and Miss Harper beat Jackson and Miss Jackson, 6 —3, 6—-"2. SummeTson and Miss St. George best Sullivan and Miss McFerran, 6—f, Hornidge and Miss Boyd O'Reilly and Miss O'Reilly, 8—6,. In the second round of the doubles Sherwell and' Misd Akhurat bat Hodson and Miss Byrne, 6—3.—A. and N.Z. ■.
