AUCKLAND, This Day. The BoaiT# of Education by seven votes to five, supported a remit from the Primary Schools' Association that the Government be tisked to provide books, stationery and oilier requisites used in the schools, and also to pafcs legislation to restrict the * power's of returning officers in commandeering schools for polling booths.
At' the 1923 election 329 'teachers were idle and : R.476 children., lost a day's schooling in the Aucklaiid district.—Press Assn. '
