PARIS, August 12.
M. Painleve, Prime Minister and Minister of War, announced that despatches from General Sarrail showed that the French losses in Syria in killed, wounded, prisoners and missing were 8000. He added that Sueida was surrounded, but the garrison had food and munitions sufficient for 49 diys. A relief force was being sent, arid calm prevailed.—Reuter.
