NUMEROUS CENTURIES, t WRIGHT PERFORMS HAT TRICK. - (Received 1.40 pvm.) LONDON, July 7. In the English county cricket series Surrey ' went in first against Hampshire and scored 272, Sandham's quota being 133. Kennedy took four wickkts for 68 runs and Boyes four for 73. Hampshire replied with 299, Head hitting up 115 not out. Surrey's second venture realised 257, Sandham putting on 50 and Shepherd 70. Hampshire were all out for 148 in the second innings, Geary capturing six wickets for 52 runs. Surrey won by 82 runs. Yorkshire, playing against Somerset, amassed 414 runs for nine wickets and declared the innings closed. Rhodes scored 114 not out, Oldroyd 86 and Kilner 59. Somerset's first session produced 148 runs, Robinson putting five men out for 65 runs. The second innings closed for the poor total of 116 runs, McAulay taking four wickets for 29. Yorkshire won by an. innings and 150 runs.
Towards Lancashire's total of 415 for nine wickets (declared), in a match, against Sussex, Hollows contributed 163 and E. Tyldesley 82. Sussex made 147 (McDonald five wickets for 83) and 124 (R, Tyldesley seven for 43). Lancashire won "by an innings and 144 runs. For Kent against Warwick, Freeman took five wickets for 46 runs and Wright four for 11, including the hat trick. For Warwick Cook took five wickets for 22. Kent won. For Essex against Northants, P'errin scored 102, Douglas took five wickets for 53 and five for 63. For Northants. Wright took six wickets for 109. Essex irmi ' For Worcester against Gloucester Foot in the first innings took six wickets for 62 and in the second five for 63. For (xlouce3ter Parker took eight wickets f<jr 42. Gloucester won.
